Bolt 14/5: "Rudd can win this if Gillard can lose"
Bolt on democratic choice:I’ve said before that a reverse on this would make Rudd at least seem he is indeed a conservative leader in the Howard mode who can be trusted to listen and not do anything mad or wildly unpopular. Imagine if we had a choice at this election between a conservative party and a non-conservative party. Talk about unfair. What we should have is two conservative parties! Hooray for democracy. But will the ideologues who helped put him into power let him do what is good for Labor and the economy? Those are the "idealogues" with whom I disagree, of course. The "idealogues" arguing for increasingly conservative policy in the liberal party would never be tarred with such an epithet. And yes - will those ALP people be willing to abandon their principles for power? Andrew will be very disappointed in them if they won't. Labels: Gillard, Kevin Rudd |
